It’s preserving historic structures, whilst building your own career

It’s being trusted to deliver. And it's providing insight and support that takes the whole Household forward. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional.

The size, complexity and heritage of the Royal residences will present you with some truly fascinating, and often unique, challenges.

Joining our professional and expert in-house team in a new role, you’ll supervise day-to-day works being carried out across the Royal Estate in Windsor.

Providing vital support to the Operations Surveyors, you’ll help schedule and oversee a range of works that varying scope and scale.

Every day will be different, as you’ll be co-ordinating both planned and reactive maintenance, as well as taking on smaller repair and restoration projects. You’ll also manage the helpdesk system to ensure excellent customer service.

Working with our internal team and external contractors, you'll provide instruction, and advice to keep activities on track. You’ll carry out regular audits, and inspections of suppliers and work orders to ensure jobs are being delivered to specification, all the while promoting risk awareness and ensuring quality controls and statutory regulations are in place.

And as the contact and liaison point for our customers, you’ll ensure everyone is kept up to-date and informed.

Accurate record keeping will also be important, and you'll ensure that all works are fully documented and logged in our new CAFM system.

In all you do, you’ll take a long-term view, planning for the future, modernising our systems and finding new ways to achieve great efficiencies. And the variety of your work, maintaining the fabric of our historic estates, will continue to inspire you.

You’ll   ideally hold a City and Guilds or Institute of Workplace and Facilities   Management (IWFM) qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or   be willing to work towards one. You’ll also have some experience working on a   property helpdesk, or in a facilities or operations environment.

Experience   of working with complex historic, or multi-site buildings would be a   real advantage, but more important is your drive to take on new challenges   that will develop your expertise.

With   strong supervisory skills you’ll hit the ground running, and will be   confident directing and organising others in tasks. Approachable, with an   effective communication style, you’ll establish strong relationships with   in-house teams and contractors alike.

Organised   yet flexible in approach, you'll be able to prioritise multiple tight deadlines   and adapt to changing circumstances in order to keep on top of our   maintenance programme.

You're   also perceptive with excellent analytical skills, able to identify   problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives.

Computer   literate and with strong administrative skills, you'll be able to use   Microsoft tools and CAFM software to deliver your varied workload.

A   good team-worker, with a 'can do' attitude, you'll work collaboratively   with colleagues across functional and geographical boundaries.

And   above all, your focus on customer service will be clear in everything that   you do, as you continuously aim to deliver exceptional results.
