Handover Project Manager
It’s leading a team who will preserve the Palace for future generations.
It’s being trusted to deliver. And it’s joining the professional team behind the Monarchy. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional.
Buckingham Palace is currently undergoing a ten-year programme of works to update the palace's infrastructure - including electrical cabling, plumbing and heating - for the first time since the 1950's. A dedicated in-house Programme Management Office will oversee the delivery of this project, to ensure the building is fit for purpose for the next 50 years.
Supporting a team of Project Managers you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth transition from construction, testing and commissioning to re-occupation of areas of Buckingham Palace.
You’ll make sure that all project activities are delivered to schedule, budget and to a high standard, whilst promoting a strong culture of compliance and risk awareness.
You’ll liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels, and you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues to achieve best practice whilst simultaneously minimising the impact on Reservicing operations as much as possible.
Delivering projects in a busy working environment will require exceptional communication and planning so that our calendar of events and operations can continue.
And the diversity of the Royal Collection will provide you with unique challenges that will grow your expertise and inspire you.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you’ll ideally have substantial experience within the property/construction sector.
Your expert project management skills will be vital, and you’ll be confident planning and programming multiple streams of work across your team.
A flexible approach to work will ensure you’re able to adapt to changing requirements, and deadlines.
Analytical, and with high initiative, you can be relied upon to quickly assess and resolve conflicts in activities, and keep the pace of each project on track.
You’ll have a natural flare when it comes to communication and stakeholder management, and you’re used to collaborating with colleagues, contractors and in-house teams so you'll quickly build credibility at all levels.
And above all you'll enjoy working within a talented multi-disciplinary team to achieve collaborative, exceptional results.
