Buckingham Palace
Fixed Term Contract
March 2022
March 2024
c.£55,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

It’s supporting the team who will preserve the palace for years to come.

It’s working with a shared and unique purpose. And it’s helping to ensure the palace is fit for the future. This is what makes working for the Royal Household so different.

Buckingham Palace is currently undergoing a ten-year programme of work to overhaul the palace’s infrastructure – including electrical cabling, plumbing and heating – for the first time since the 1950’s. A dedicated in-house Programme Management Office will oversee the delivery of this project, to ensure the building is fit for purpose over the next 50 years.

You’ll be responsible for programme-wide package management for the low voltage, critical systems within the Reservising Programme, from design and procurement to installation/construction, commissioning and hand back.

You’ll be on the pulse of daily activity and provide regular reports and insights to the Commercial Director and PMO managers, providing reassurance that works are progressing on time and in budget.

With one eye on the future, you’ll have a steer on resourcing needs across the programme and help ease periods of peak service demand.

Buckingham Palace continues to be a busy working building; and therefore you will be a vital interface with multiple stakeholders, ensuring our calendar of events and operations can continue.

In a role that is strategic in focus, you will have the opportunity to use your commercial acumen and unique oversight across all the whole of BPR to deliver real value.

With relevant qualifications and project management experience, preferably with experience within the property/construction sector, you're exactly who we're looking for.

Expert at managing the end-to-end project lifecycle, including complex construction packages, you'll have the skills to deliver a varied range of property challenges.

Organised, pro-active and with lots of initiative, you'll thrive working across a varied programme of works, each holding its unique challenges, adapting to tight deadlines and changing circumstances.

With good analytical skills, pragmatism and pro-activity, you're used to anticipating issues and coming up with innovative solutions.

Digitally fluent, organised and with an eye for detail, your record keeping and administration are second-to-none.

A natural communicator and collaborator used to working with colleagues, contractors and in-house teams, you'll quickly build credibility at all levels.

An internal customer champion, with agility and resourcefulness, you'll deliver projects that everyone will be proud about.
