Team Administrator and Co-ordinator
In this role you’ll join the Lord Chamberlain’s Office, as part of the team who coordinate and manage a busy ceremonial calendar of events.
You’ll provide day-to-day administration for members of The Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, who undertake a number of ceremonial duties throughout the year.
You’ll handle varied queries and correspondence, as well as oversee the general management of the offices, Mess and other workspaces based in St. James’s Palace.
Responsible for ceremony and function related activity, you’ll plan detailed logistics, from team roles and rotas, to catering and travel requirements. You’ll also oversee the care and maintenance of uniforms and important ceremonial items that are used during events.
A key part of your role will be liaising with various internal teams across the organisation and external colleagues such honorary members of the Household and Police and Security Services to help ensure the smooth running of events.
You’ll become a key point of knowledge for the historic role of the Gentlemen at Arms, and play an integral part in delivering time-honoured events that are valued by many today.
- You’ll have previous administrative or clerical experience, potentially in a related environment.
- Experience in the Armed Forces would be an advantage, but not essential.
- Well organised with meticulous attention to detail, you’ll be confident co-ordinating a varied calendar of activity and meeting regular deadlines.
- You’ll have good IT skills, coupled with clear and accurate written communication.
- With strong interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to establish good working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Self-motivated and proactive, you’ll be an asset to the team, and will enjoy working with others to deliver results.
