Information Security, Privacy and Records Manager

Reporting to the Director of Digital Services, you’ll lead the Information Security, Privacy and Records Management functions to ensure our digital and physical information is accessible and secure from creation to archive.

No two days will be the same and the unique nature and diversity of our information will challenge and inspire you. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll lead the update of our records strategy, and implement new processes and procedures to ensure information can be securely accessed today and for generations to come.

The role involves:

• Developing and enhancing our strategy, policies and practices for Data Protection, Records Management, and Information Security.
• Leading a team to assess information security, privacy, and records, while proactively monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
• Maintaining the Information Security Management System in alignment with best practice.
• As subject matter expert, providing advice, guidance, and leadership to a wide range of stakeholders covering the breath of our activities.
• Building a culture of good information management and engaging all employees to understand their role.

• With a relevant qualification in Information Security and Data/Records Management you’ll also have experience of managing a complex and varied portfolio of digital and physical records.
• Experience of team leadership, strategy development, risk and business analysis, and a deep understanding of relevant technical best practice. Knowledge of ISO27001 would be an advantage.
• A positive agent for change with experience of introducing and embedding new working practices.
• The ability to review complex information systems and web applications, identify risks and recommend appropriate, pragmatic (and cost effective) solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, able to convey and explain complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative style and an ability to quickly build good working relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills, able to juggle competing long and short-term priorities to meet deadlines.
