It's the sense of guardianship for a world class collection

It's working with a shared and unique purpose, and it's caring for and presenting one of the world's largest art collections. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so different.

In terms of both quality and diversity, our collection of decorative arts is breath-taking.

As Art Handler, you'll plan and co-ordinate the movement of works of art within and between our various Royal residences and Galleries.

Liaising with colleagues across the organisation, you'll schedule and carry out moves in line with our busy programme of loans and exhibitions, as well as the ongoing operations of working royal palaces.

You’ll make sure all items are handled, packed, transported and installed correctly.

Every day, like every item, will present a different challenge. Drawing on your expertise, you'll provide advice and guidance to internal colleagues and external contractors alike, ensuring exceptional standards of collections care at all times.

You'll also document all moves, and will make sure our database is kept up-to-date.

Working with such a variety of items, from intricate timepieces and delicate porcelain, to handcrafted furniture and historic armoury, you’ll broaden your knowledge.

And, knowing that you're enabling our works of art to be admired by a huge audience will be your biggest reward.

With proven experience in art handling, ideally with decorative art, and looking to further develop your skills, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

You’ll have a good understanding of conservation requirements, as well as knowledge of methods of installing and transporting historic objects, and the materials and equipment required.

Organised and flexible in approach, you'll be adept at managing your time and prioritising a varied workload in order to meet tight deadlines.

An effective communicator, you'll enjoy collaborating with internal colleagues who are specialists in their own field, as well as a range of external organizations.

For this role, good manual handling skills will be needed, along with a full UK driving license.

A good command of relevant IT programmes will be important too.

Above all, you'll be eager to expand the scope of your knowledge and be driven to maintain the very highest standards of care in all that you do.
