Windsor Castle
Permanent
£25,000 - £30,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week

It's taking five minutes to admire the hundreds of years you're building on.

It's inspiring the changes behind the traditions. And it's providing the insight and support that takes the whole Household forward. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional.

The size, complexity and heritage of the Royal residences will present you with some truly fascinating, and often unique, challenges.

Joining the Property Section at Buckingham Palace, you'll provide on-site supervision of project works being carried out across the estate.

You'll oversee the schedule and allocate resources for multiple projects, ensuring that works are complete to the highest standards of quality, within time and budget.

Every day, like every project, will be different. Working with both our internal team and external contractors, you'll provide instruction, training and advice that will keep the team engaged, and the project on track.

Your regular inspections will monitor the progress of works, promote risk awareness and ensure quality controls and statutory regulations are consistently in place.

Keeping project records up-to-date will also be important, and you'll ensure that works are fully documented and communicated to your internal customers effectively.

And with every new project, you’ll take a long-term view, planning for the future, modernising our systems and finding new ways to achieve great efficiencies.

With a City and Guilds or NVQ qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, and substantial property experience, you're exactly who we're looking for.

A sound understanding of contract management and its associated administration is essential, as well as an understanding of the financial control required when overseeing projects.

You'll have strong supervisory skills, particularly when it comes to in-house teams and contractor relationships, and your focus on customer service will be clear in everything you do.

Organised and flexible in approach, you'll be able to prioritise multiple tight programmes and adapt to changing circumstances. You're also perceptive with excellent analytical skills, able to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives.

You're a confident and professional communicator, who feels at ease liaising with colleagues and contractors at all levels.

Experience working on multi-site estates and with historic/listed buildings would be beneficial, and above all you'll work collaboratively with colleagues across functional and geographical boundaries with your 'can do' attitude.
