Joining a team of talented conservation and restoration specialists, you'll care for and restore furniture to the highest standard.

Based at our on-site workshop, you'll take on in-depth remedial conservation treatments, employing a range of techniques. You'll carefully balance multiple projects, ensuring that the working collection can continue to be used and appreciated by future generations.

Everyday your expertise will be relied upon. You'll survey and evaluate the condition of furniture, making recommendations for treatments and working with colleagues to prioritise restorations.

You'll oversee the work of external contractors, providing advice and guidance to ensure exceptional standards of collections care and conservation at all times.

You'll also be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of specialist tools, and equipment, ensuring H&S requirements are consistently met.

And because your projects will align with events and exhibitions, you'll have a particular focus on furniture finishes, and you'll carefully record all your handlings for future reference.

With a professional qualification in the conservation of historic furniture, and extensive experience delivering complex conservation-restoration treatments, you're the expert we're looking for.

As a specialist in historic furniture, you know how to survey items and propose conservation works that are practical, and meet varied requirements.

Your passion for conserving historic items will be evident from your meticulous approach and high standards. And you'll be confident re-creating historic furniture finishes, and taking on some truly fine craft furniture making.

In addition, your organisation and time management skills will be vital in order to prioritise multiple, and often conflicting deadlines.  

You're an excellent communicator, and will enjoy working alongside and engaging with a range of people both internal and external, including specialists in their own field.
