The Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood (CCOK) are responsible for managing Honours awarded by The Queen, as well as organising award ceremonies that celebrate the achievements and successes of people throughout the world.

You will assist the Head of The Central Chancery, leading a small, yet dedicated team of experts in delivering an annual programme of ceremonial events.

You will oversee all events relating to Orders of Chivalry, including many annual Services for Orders. Managing the activities of the team, you will make sure that every occasion is meticulously planned, coordinated and delivered to the highest standard.

Collaborative working is at the heart of our activities. You will guide and support those around you throughout all stages of an event’s organisation, as well as being on hand on the day to help with its smooth delivery.

You will also have overall responsibility for managing many day-to-day operations, such as the distribution of Insignia/medals and their warrants of appointment, department budgets and report, and also stock and supplier management.

Standards are everything here, because the results of our work are seen by so many. Proactively looking for new ways to develop working practices for the team, you will identify efficiencies and drive the increased use of IT.

The specific expertise you’ll develop will both challenge and drive you on. And become a trusted, central point of advice for internal and external colleagues alike will be a great sense of reward.

You will have a proven track record of planning and delivering large scale events to the highest standards.

An understanding of State Ceremonial protocol, the Offices of State, the Church and the Military would be an advantage.

Most important however, is your organised, methodical approach and ability to prioritise many event schedules to meet deadlines. What’s more, with an exceptional eye for detail, you will thrive in an environment where perfection is the norm.

Experienced in budget management and report writing, you will be able to handle and analyse statistics and manage the CCOK budget.

What's more, being systems and process minded, you will enjoy identifying ways to improve operations, especially through the use of IT and online technologies.

With a strong customer focus, you will combine your interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships.

Finally, you will have excellent people management skills, and will be experienced in leading, inspiring and developing others to deliver.
