It's creating a sustainable future for world famous historic buildings

It's the sheer variety of opportunities you'll have. And it's providing the insight and support that takes the whole Household forward. This is what makes a career at the Royal Household exceptional.

The size, complexity and heritage of the Royal residences will present you with some truly fascinating, and often unique, challenges.

Joining the Property Section, you'll supervise the planned, cyclical, and reactive electrical and mechanical works at Windsor Castle.

With oversight of daily operations, you'll schedule maintenance work and keep track of progress to ensure standards and budgets are met.

You'll guide and advise both our internal team and external contractors, providing training on equipment and procedures, and constantly pushing for better operational efficiency.

Your regular inspections will monitor the progress of works, promote risk awareness and ensure quality controls and statutory regulations are consistently in place.

Keeping project records up-to-date will also be important, and you'll ensure that works are fully documented and communicated to your internal customers effectively.

The range of your work will be vast. And, working in occupied historic buildings, your challenge will be to balance current needs, whilst also modernising our systems for the future.

Possessing a City and Guilds or NVQ qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, along with substantial property maintenance experience, you're exactly who we're looking for.

Experience of working on multi-site estates or with historic or listed buildings would be a real advantage, as well as a good command of a Building Management IT System.

A sound understanding of contract management and its associated administration is essential, as well as an understanding of the financial control required when overseeing schedules of work.

Your focus on customer service will be clear in everything you do, and as an effective communicator, you're confident liaising with colleagues and contractors at all levels.

You'll also have strong supervisory skills, particularly when it comes to in-house teams and contractor relationships. Perceptive and resourceful, you'll be quick to assess issues, before finding solutions and reacting effectively.

You'll be organised and flexible in approach, able to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritise the varied workload that historic environments entail.

And with your 'can do' attitude, you'll work collaboratively with colleagues across functional and geographical boundaries to deliver an exceptional service.

In return you will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, a 15% employer contribution pension scheme (with the option for flexibility - to increase contributions or draw down as salary), with training and development, as well as a range of catering and recreational facilities.
