Handling everything involved in the official and private entertaining, across all the Royal residences, the Master of the Household's Department delivers hundreds of different events every year.

You'll supervise and motivate a team of Palace Attendants who prepare Buckingham Palace for a variety of events and functions. As such, you'll play an important part in making sure that everything goes to plan behind the scenes.

From setting up for a department meeting, to arranging the state rooms for thousands of visitors, you'll support the smooth daily running of a working palace.

Every day will be different. Whether it's reviewing a function sheet to plan the week ahead, or helping to prepare for a state banquet, you'll make sure that every item is in place and presented to its very best.

Leading a dedicated team, you'll monitor staff rotas, train new team members and support development needs. But above all, you'll drive your team to deliver exceptional standards in all that they do.

Achieving all this will mean occasionally working at heights, for example, on indoor scaffolding, steps and ladders.

With previous experience in a hospitality environment, you're ready to take on a new challenge and are keen to expand your knowledge.

You're at your best working as part of a team, working collaboratively with your colleagues and supporting and motivating others to achieve team goals.

And with excellent natural communications skills, you'll have many examples of how you've worked effectively with a range of people and built good working relationships.

You’re a natural leader with experience of supervising the work of others. You're also comfortable making decisions and finding practical solutions to problems, even when things get busy.

With a varied and time dependent schedule, you're motivated by the achievement of deadlines, you take care and pride in your work and the work of others. What's more, being reliable and driven, you'll make sure the job gets done, delivering a seamless service.

Your pro-active approach and keen attention to detail, means you'll aim for the highest standards in all that you do. Numeracy and a good level of computer literacy are important too.

Above all, you enjoy getting the best out of people, and you'll be eager to develop your team, as well as your own supervisory skills.
