Joining the Records team in the Private Secretary's Office, you will assist with the management of paper and digital records for the department.

You'll input and compile a variety of records, ensuring that our databases and paper records are kept up-to-date and accessible.

As a key point of contact, you'll deal with file requests and manage loans, as well as maintaining the records for future reference. You will also undertake regular reviews of the files and weed/prepare them for transfer to the Royal Archives as required.

Once up to speed, you'll also contribute ideas to ensure on-going improvements to our existing databases and future developments within this area.

Your work will underpin the daily activities of this busy department, fundamental in delivering some truly important occasions, which will provide a real sense of job satisfaction.

With previous administration experience, excellent IT skills and a methodical work style, you're exactly who we're looking for.

You might be familiar already with databases and be interested in building a career in records, but if you don't have an understanding of the principles of record keeping we'll provide all the training you need.

Highly organised and detail-focused, you're capable of processing large volumes of information to high standards of accuracy, and within strict deadlines when required.

Your excellent communication skills will be important, and you'll be able to liaise effectively with people at all levels across the organisation.

Self-motivated with lots of initiative, you'll also be confident working independently and able to switch priorities as required to deliver results, even when the pressure is on.
