Joining our professional and dedicated Fire Safety team at Windsor Castle, you'll lead the team responsible for all aspects of fire safety. This includes prevention, protection, preparedness and response, and a 24/7 fire surveillance service.

Managing the fire team’s activities, and having oversight of fire protection and detection system works, your challenge will be to ensure that as an overall team, you work proactively and efficiently, delivering best practice in all you do.

And you’ll do this by providing leadership, supervision and guidance to those around you, and well as having responsibility for rostering, training and performance.

And working with internal and external colleagues, you’ll ensure preventative measures and response plans are in place, and that all legal requirements are met.

From safety inspections and risk assessments, to regular drills and exercises, your role will be vital in ensuring a continued safe environment for all.

You’ll be one of the first responders in the event of a fire or first aid incident. And you’ll also develop and deliver fire safety training, proactively promoting fire safety awareness across the Windsor Estate.

You’ll lead by example, and the breadth of this role will provide opportunities to develop your existing skills.

With extensive experience leading a team in a fire safety role in the emergency or armed services, and looking for a new   challenge, with comprehensive technical understanding of fire safety and protection, you’re the expert we need.

You’ll also have a good technical understanding and proven experience of fire prevention, protection, preparedness and response, and have knowledge and experience of both passive and active fire protection

For this role a good level of physical fitness is required, and you’ll also be trained in SFJ Breathing Apparatus and first aid. A full and valid UK driving licence will also be essential.

As a qualified Fire Team Member or Leader, you’re experienced in undertaking and applying dynamic and non-dynamic fire and health & safety risk assessments.

You’ll have good IT skills, and ideally experience of computerised fire monitoring control systems. And all of this will mean that you’ll be confident responding effectively to varied emergency incidents.

Your communication and people management skills will be important; you'll have a genuine interest in motivating a team, whilst   also progressing their professional development.

Organised and flexible in approach, you’re able to adapt to changing circumstances, effectively balancing priorities, even when   under pressure.

Above all, you'll have initiative and a responsive attitude, essential qualities that will enable you to succeed.
