It's helping to protect one of the world's most famous institutions over a period when Buckingham Palace is undergoing a major reservicing programme.

This is a challenging role within a well-established team providing high level protective security support and advice to the Royal Household.

As a trusted and experienced advisor and subject matter expert, you'll provide timely security advice on security matters relating to the Royal Household estate, including support to events and functions, to create a safe and secure environment for all. In doing so, you'll liaise closely with security colleagues and senior external stakeholders in order to ensure the very high standards of our security plans, policies and practices are maintained.

It's a fast paced environment, and you'll make important decisions every day. But whether you're quality assuring operations, investigating a security incident or reviewing business continuity and contingency planning, you'll always deliver with rigour, sound judgement and professionalism.

And every day, working in close partnership with the Police, you'll complete vital work that will have an impact across the entire Household.

With significant experience in a protective security role, ideally gained in either the Police or Military, you're the expert we need.

With a proven track record of designing and implementing best practice physical and personnel security procedures, alongside project management experience, you'll have an in-depth understanding of crisis response, business continuity and integrated and holistic site security planning.

The ability to remain calm and level headed under pressure, think on your feet, and demonstrate good judgment and sound decision making in a fast paced environment will be vital. Experience of managing staff that are geographically separated would be advantageous.

An experienced people manager and excellent team player, you'll have a proven ability to motivate, develop and inspire others.

What's more, your excellent time management skills mean you can effectively prioritise workloads in order to support managers and staff, whilst balancing proactive and reactive demands.

As a strong communicator and with a collaborative approach, you'll build and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally, to achieve the best results.

Above all you will have initiative and a responsive attitude, essential qualities that enable you to deliver to the highest standard every day.
