It's knowing your expertise is enhancing access to a magnificent collection

It's feeling proud of the part you play. It's getting satisfaction from working with a collection of international importance. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so different.

The Royal Library holds a collection of books, and manuscripts that is truly breathtaking.

Joining our team of experts, your challenge will be to catalogue the Library holdings, enhancing our records for both internal and external audiences.

You'll update our existing records, providing structured descriptions to make sure every object is categorised and easy to find.

By creating new records and expanding our database, your cataloguing will underpin our collection management, and maximise the collection's exposure.

You'll also help colleagues identify and prepare new material for entry on Royal Collection Online.

And, in all that you do, you'll help a growing audience access and discover our unique collection of books and manuscripts.

With a relevant library qualification, or equivalent experience in a books cataloguing environment, you'll have a good working knowledge of relevant cataloguing practices and MARC 21.

You'll also have a strong grounding in the history of the book, and will be familiar with the challenges of working with historic books and manuscripts.

Ideally with a working knowledge of one or more European language, you'll be comfortable working with materials in other languages on a daily basis.

Your methodical approach and excellent organisation skills mean you'll be able to apply cataloguing rules effectively to meet deadlines.

Self motivated with an eye for detail, you'll be able to work independently to achieve consistently high standards.

Finally, your communication and problem-solving skills will make you an asset to our team, and you'll look forward to the many opportunities that working with our unique collection presents.

This is your opportunity to use your passion for books and manuscripts to deliver the exceptional.

In return you will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including 33 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays), a 15% employer contribution pension scheme (with the option for flexibility - to increase contributions or draw down as salary), lunch provided, with training and development, as well as a range of recreational facilities.
