You’ll play a vital part in promoting a positive health and safety culture and ensuring regulatory requirements are met across all our sites.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Promote a culture of Health and Safety, and assist managers with all Health and Safety related assessments, procedures and practical training needs for day-to-day activities as well as events.
  • Support and complete workplace inspections and with relevant, up-to-date policy advice, make recommendations to alleviate risk.
  • Manage the annual rolling health surveillance programme across all sites in consultation with our external provider.
  • Support the development of our on-line health and safety management system.
  • Ensure systems are updated, including risk registers, accident and near miss information so that health and safety performance is accurately monitored.
  • Input and analyse incident data to identify trends and areas requiring further investigation.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure the Royal Household complies with its statutory duties and industry standards.

 

Although based at Buckingham Palace, you will regularly travel to Windsor Castle and occasionally to other sites.

Essential Criteria:

 

  • A qualified professional, you have a relevant health and safety qualification at QCF Level 3 or equivalent (NEBOSH General Certificate or similar) and you’re keen to develop and progress your career.
  • With relevant experience in a fast paced and multi-functional environment, and sound knowledge of statutory compliance and risk, you’ll be confident providing advice and making recommendations.
  • A capable communicator able to build good working relationships at all levels.
  • At your best working as part of a team, you can also use initiative to work independently.
  • Highly organised and pro-active, you can co-ordinate a varied workload across locations and meet multiple deadlines.
  • With good administration skills and attention to detail, you can analyse data, identify insights and produce reports in different formats.
  • Digitally literate with a sound understanding of MS Office and Health and Safety systems.
