It's knowing your work is providing vital support

It's being trusted to deliver, and it's joining a professional team at the heart of an institution that upholds the highest standards. This is what makes working for The Royal Household so exceptional.

The Private Secretary's Office supports The Queen in her duties as Head of State, working to engage the public with The Queen’s role and work in the UK and overseas.

You will join the Secretariat team who provide analytical research, planning and policy guidance to The Queen's Private Secretaries and the wider Household departments.

You will assist with the review of material under the FoI Act, and other related information access regimes and handle the team's administrative processes. You will also undertake and present small-scale research and analysis to assist programme planning and organisational activities and projects.

Monitoring both UK and Commonwealth Realms' media coverage, you will produce regular summaries of matters of interest to the organisation, and have the opportunity to undertake statistical research and analysis that will assist with future plans and strategy.

Handling the team's administrative processes, you will be responsible for keeping accurate and up-to-date records, and will act as a key point of contact within the Secretariat team.

On a daily basis, you will liaise with domestic and overseas Government Departments, public authorities and a wide range of internal stakeholders.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a professional, fast moving and stimulating environment.

The work you do will underpin the daily activities of the entire department, fundamental in delivering critical support to the entire Household.

With a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, you will have a proven aptitude for research and analysis, including qualitative and quantitative skills.

Prior knowledge or experience of the FoI Act and related legislation would also be advantageous, as well as a desire to build on your knowledge of current domestic and world affairs.

As an analytical thinker, you'll be able to consume and review large volumes of information, summarising the salient points in order to draft correspondence and other written documents accurately for internal and external colleagues.

With exceptional attention to detail, and good knowledge of databases and relevant MS Office progammes, you're capable of administering enquiries and maintaining an accurate log of all ongoing team matters.

Possessing a methodical approach to work, you will be able to multitask and organise your own workload and deliver to often tight deadlines.

Communication skills will also be important as you'll need to liaise effectively with people across the organisation and externally.

Above all, you'll enjoy working alongside and collaborating with colleagues with a shared and truly unique purpose.

In return you can look forward to working in a unique and stimulating work environment, and be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including 33 days holiday per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays), a 15% employer contribution pension scheme, and support for your continuous professional development.
