The Royal Communications team promotes the work, role, relevance and value of the Royal Family to a worldwide audience.

Joining the small team based in Scotland, you'll assist with both proactive and reactive communications and will provide vital administrative support.

Supporting the Communications Secretary, and working closely with Royal Collection Trust colleagues,  you'll help manage the daily news flow, handling media queries as well as liaising with the media for Royal engagements and official events.

You'll also produce content for a variety of media platforms. From press announcements and media briefing notes, to social media updates and feature articles; you'll develop your skills as you take on each new challenge.

Whether you're covering a garden party, award ceremony or Royal engagement, you'll make sure our communications consistently spark interest and reach a range of audiences.

The reaction to our work is always high-profile, and so reputation and impact will be at the forefront of all that you do.

Managing the office admin, from answering telephone queries and managing the team's diary to replying to correspondence, you'll make sure the office runs like clockwork.

Educated to degree level and with a genuine interest in a media relations career, you'll demonstrate good news sense, and will be up-to-date with current affairs, especially those related to Scotland, along with emerging communication ideas.

Articulate, engaging and accurate writing skills will be absolutely vital, together with confidence in copywriting and editing content for different audiences.

Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will also be important, enabling you to develop relationships with a wide range of people, both internal and external.

It's a busy and fast-paced environment. You'll need to be extremely well organised with good administrative skills, whilst also able to think on your feet, be flexible and prioritise in order to meet tight deadlines. Previous administrative experience would be advantageous.

You'll also be assertive, able to use your initiative and will proactively contribute new ideas and creative content.

With good judgement, sensitivity and a willingness to help others, you'll quickly become a trusted and indispensable member of the team.
