The Gardens and Grounds team care for and present gardens that are seen by thousands of visitors and guests every year.
Joining this small team of qualified gardeners, you'll help ensure the Royal Gardens and surrounding areas of Buckingham Palace and St. James’s Palace are maintained to an exceptional standard.
As our specialist, you'll take specific responsibility for the lawned areas, as well as helping the team with general garden duties.
From grass cutting and scarifying, to irrigation, fertilisation and machinery maintenance, you'll ensure our lawns are cared for throughout the year.
What's more, you'll help to prepare for high profile events, ensuring the lawns and gardens are presented at their best for thousands of visitors to admire.
With experience of maintaining ornamental lawns or sports grounds, and ideally some more general knowledge of horticulture and Automatic Irrigation Systems, you're exactly who we're looking for.
A formal qualification in Sports Turf Level 2 or Amenity Horticulture (Sports Turf) Level 2 will be essential, as is a clean UK C1 (7.5 tonne) driving licence. You'll also hold a PA1, PA6a and PA2 Spraying Licence.
You'll have experience of turf maintenance machinery, and can carry out maintenance and repairs.
The opportunity to work as part of a team will be important to you, and you'll have the skills to communicate with a range of people.
With a busy annual calendar of events, organisation and time management will be critical. And when required, you'll be happy to lend a hand and help with general garden duties.
