It's a unique opportunity to work as part of a professional team in a fast moving and stimulating environment. This is what makes working for The Royal Household so exceptional.

As Secretariat Assistant you will support the team that provides analytical research, planning and policy guidance to The Queen's Private Secretaries and the wider Household departments.

You'll assist with the review of material under the FoI Act and related information access regimes and will have responsibility for liaising with external stakeholders.

Monitoring both UK and Commonwealth Realms' media coverage, you'll produce regular summaries of matters of interest to the organisation and you'll also have the opportunity to undertake small-scale research and analysis too.

Handling the team's administrative processes, you'll be responsible for everything from keeping accurate and up to date records of enquiries to managing the team calendar.

As a key point of contact within the Secretariat team, you'll liaise with domestic and foreign Government Departments, public authorities and a wide range of internal stakeholders on a daily basis.

The work you do will underpin the daily activities of the entire department, fundamental in delivering critical support to the entire Household.

With a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, you will have a proven aptitude for research and analysis, including qualitative and quantitative skills, as well as a good knowledge of current domestic and world affairs.

You may also have a prior knowledge or experience of the FoI Act and related legislation, which would be an advantage.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, you're capable of administering enquiries related to FoI that come your way and maintaining an accurate log of all ongoing matters.

Communication skills will be important as you'll need to be able to liaise effectively with people across the organisation and externally. You'll have excellent written communication abilities in order to draft reports and correspondence succinctly and accurately.

Self-motivated with lots of initiative, you'll be confident working independently and professionally to deliver results, even when the pressure is on.

Above all, you'll enjoy working alongside and collaborating with colleagues with a shared and truly unique purpose.

In return, you can look forward to a comprehensive benefits package, including a 15% employer contribution pension scheme, 33 days' annual leave, including bank holidays, free lunch and access to training and development to support your continuous professional development.
