The Private Secretary's Office (PSO) provides advice on constitutional, governmental and political matters in the UK and the wider Commonwealth and is responsible for organising The Queen’s official programme.

Working closely with the Private Secretaries, you will lead and develop a dedicated team of professionals who support the diverse strategic and operational priorities of The Royal Household.

This will include responsibility for correspondence with the public, anniversary messages, record keeping for the department and administration services.

You will also ensure communication with the Government, the Commonwealth and the Church is effective, as well as managing general administrative support for the department, including budget and risk management.

You will have previous experience in a relevant role or environment, leading teams with a key focus on service delivery.

Experience of working with central government and correspondence teams would be beneficial.

You will also have substantial project management experience with a comprehensive understanding of business processes, (including reporting and budget setting) and demonstrative capability in reviewing and delivering change.

With advanced knowledge in database management and outstanding analytical skills, you are able to balance strategic and operational priorities, and will know when to delve into the detail or when to retain a wider perspective.

A strong people manager, you will know how to direct the work of a team, how to motivate, encourage and develop them, as well as managing change and performance.

Organised, with lots of initiative and sound decision making skills, you will juggle a varied workload whilst maintaining consistently high standards.

A natural communicator and collaborator used to partnering senior managers to influence and advise on strategy, you will hit the ground running, building credibility at all levels.
