The successful candidate will join an accomplished and close-knit team, working hands-on with talented colleagues to deliver a range of cuisines to the highest standards.

You'll work with quality ingredients and be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, preparation and service of food for The Royal Household.

 Requirements

  • Supervise and assist in preparing meals across all areas of the kitchen for internal colleagues, Royal meals, and special functions to the highest standards.
  • Support Senior chefs in creating seasonal menus utilising products from the local estates.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to manage food purchases, stock control, and menu planning, suggesting improvements for optimal kitchen operation.
  • Ensure standard operational procedures for food preparation are consistently followed to ensure maintaining consistently high standards.
  • Travel as required to other residences ensuring consistent quality and organisation throughout.
  • Take an active role in the leadership and development of the kitchen team, delegating tasks to Chef de Partie’s and junior team members when appropriate and providing guidance on cooking and preparation techniques.
  • Act as a deputy when required by the Head Chef or Chef in charge, overseeing kitchen operations as needed.

Essential Criteria

  • Successfully completed a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent).
  • Bring extensive experience from 5-star/premier catering operations.
  • Master all kitchen sections: Larder, Veg, Sauce, and Pastry.
  • Skilful in menu planning and development.
  • Stay informed and compliant with legislative requirements.
  • Communicate effectively, fostering team growth.
  • Approach tasks with a positive, flexible attitude and hands-on management.
  • Take proactive steps with strong planning and organization skills.
  • Show dedication and passion for the industry and culinary craft.
  • Pursue continuous professional development ambitiously.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous involvement in volume catering.
  • Appreciation for classical French cuisine.
  • Familiarity with kitchen French.
