As a Telephone Operator, you’ll join the busy switchboard operation responsible for handling calls to the Royal residences. With around 4,000 calls every week, you'll join a dynamic team at the heart of the Royal Household.

Answering and processing calls for a number of Royal residences, you will provide an efficient and friendly service to external callers, and a range of internal colleagues across multiple locations.

Dealing with day-to-day queries will be a big part of your role. Through structured training, you will learn to handle each call appropriately, and you will quickly become familiar with this unique and varied organisation.

With previous switchboard or reception experience, you are a confident and professional communicator who feels at ease liaising with a range of people.

Customer focused in your approach, you will be adept at helping callers and ensuring their queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Basic IT skills are also needed so that you can navigate the computerised switchboard system, and keep accurate records of the large volume of calls received.
