It’s knowing your support is behind some truly exceptional events

It's working as one to present ceremonial activities that are enjoyed by millions. This is what makes working for the Royal Household so different.

The Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps plays a vital role within our organisation, liaising with the diplomatic community in relation to all state and official occasions.

You will provide wide-ranging admin support to the Marshal, helping to ensure the smooth delivery of many important ceremonial events throughout the year.

Your daily role will include diary management, travel arrangements, dealing with queries and drafting correspondence. Helping to co-ordinate Royal events, you will send invitations, co-ordinate guest lists and produce seating plans.

As you develop your knowledge in this role, you will become as source of advice in relation to event procedures and schedules. You will be a point of contact for internal colleagues, members of the diplomatic community, a range of government departments and other external organisations. A key focus for you will be to build and maintain effective relationships with all these groups.

Working towards high profile events such as The Queen’s Birthday Parade and Royal garden parties, will motivate you. But no matter what challenge comes your way, the standards you aim for will be consistently high, which will give you the greatest sense of reward.

With experience of complex diary management and exceptional administration skills, you will be looking to stretch your skills in a new and unique environment.

Your organisation and efficient approach will be vital, and you will be confident prioritising a busy workload effectively.

With a meticulous eye for detail, and excellent drafting skills you take pride in delivering the highest standards. Strong IT skills over a range of packages will also be important.

A working knowledge of current and international affairs would prove useful, and you may even speak another language.

More important however is that you are an excellent communicator, with a calm, friendly manner, able to liaise with a wide range of internal and external audiences.

This is your opportunity to use your proactive, flexible approach to deliver the exceptional.

In return, you can look forward to a comprehensive benefits package, including a 15% employer contribution pension scheme, 33 days annual leave, pro-rata, (including bank holidays) and support for your continuous professional development.
