Kitchen Porter

Master of the Household’s Office
Buckingham Palace
Permanent
£16,755.56 per annum + option to live-in
Full time, 5 days out of 7, Monday to Sunday

It's the feeling of satisfaction from helping to deliver a spotless service.

It’s the collaboration and the community spirit. And it’s helping to deliver extraordinary service in incredible surroundings. This is what makes working for the Royal Household so different.

You’ll join a close-knit and committed catering team who prepare and serve food to the very highest standards.

You'll assist the team by maintaining the wash-up environment, ensuring our chefs and assistants have all they need to deliver hundreds of staff meals every day.

You’ll clean equipment and utensils ready for use on a daily basis, as well as assisting with food preparation.

And whether you’re based in Buckingham Palace or, when required, travelling to another Royal residence, you’ll embrace this challenge and the many others that come your way.

Our excellent training will provide you with all the skills you need, and so experience isn’t essential. It’s who you are that we’re really interested in.

You’re a natural team player, happy to get involved, use initiative and work with your colleagues to achieve a smooth daily service.

You clearly take care and pride in your work, and so aim to deliver great results in all that you do.

You might already have a good understanding of food hygiene and safety, but if not we'll organise training for you.

Above all, you're keen to develop your skills and gain experience in an exceptional catering environment.

You will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including 33 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays), a 15% employer contribution pension scheme (with the option for flexibility - to increase contributions or draw down as salary), all meals provided, training and development, as well as a range of recreational facilities. In addition, as this is a live-in role, you will be provided with accommodation, for which your salary will be adjusted.
