The experienced Royal Household Kitchens team cater to a range of culinary requirements from large scale events to bespoke private catering.

The successful candidate will join an accomplished and close-knit team, working hands-on with talented colleagues to deliver a range of cuisines to the highest standards.

You'll work with quality ingredients to plan and develop menu items for a wide range of events.

Alongside the Head Pastry Chef, you’ll lead and motivate the Pastry Kitchen team while developing both your managerial and cooking skills, playing an integral part in the day-to-day running of The Royal Household.

In an environment where development and training is commonplace, you'll be supported to grow within your role.

The role may require you to travel for 8-10 weeks of the year, on a rotational basis to other Royal residences around the UK. Travel can range from a long weekend to an annual trip of approximately 4 weeks.

You’ll have successfully completed a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent) and have in depth knowledge and experience of all Pastry sections, Pastes and Tarts, Cakes and Gateaux, Breads, Danish and Vienoisserie, Chocolate, Sugar flower and Pastillage work, Canapes and Afternoon Teas, plated desserts and Banquetting and be confident in menu planning and development.

You’ll have gained your substantial experience within 5 star/premier catering operations (Corporate/City contract catering would be ideal) where the highest standards prevail.

Using proven leadership and people management skills the successful candidate will have the ability to encourage and develop a team.

With excellent communication skills, you'll have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both your team and colleagues.

It's essential that you can plan and organise effectively, as you and your team will be delivering for very varied occasions.

It’s also important that you can follow all legislative requirements and have good IT skills.

This role offers the option of live-in accommodation (for which there is a salary adjustment) with all meals provided.
