It's knowing you’re capturing a unique snapshot of history

It’s working as one team to deliver impressive projects. And it’s the satisfaction of presenting, and promoting, one of the world’s greatest and most diverse art collections. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so different.

The Picture Library is responsible for the photography of items within the Collection, as well as the management and marketing of digital images for the diverse array of artwork in the Royal Collection and Royal Residences.

Joining this dedicated team on an exciting new project, you'll photograph works of art to be published in the catalogue raisonné of European Sculpture, delivering high quality images on time and to brief.

You'll process digital files, undertake detailed colour management and work with the Digital Imager to ensure files are ready to be uploaded to the Royal Collection’s DAM.

Drawing on expertise from teams across Royal Collection Trust, collaboration will be part of your daily routine and will be key to your success. With photographic sessions in Royal Residences and external locations, you’ll liaise with the Picture Library Manager, Project Co-Ordinator, other colleagues and external stakeholders to make arrangements and discuss the brief for each session. And you’ll bring your own style and ideas while working to produce reproduction-quality images.

In all your work, you’ll aim to show the beauty of important and often unique works of sculpture. And your passion for engaging photography will be vital in promoting the works of this unique collection.

With a degree or equivalent qualification in photography, you’ll have experience in Fine Art photography, perhaps in a museum or gallery, and have used digital backs and professional RAW processing software.

You'll also have experience with colour management, alongside a good knowledge of Photoshop and the use of studio equipment.

With a keen eye for detail and lots of creativity, you’ll be confident drawing on your expertise to put forward suggestions to suit varied briefs.

As an excellent communicator with a proactive approach, you'll enjoy collaborating with team members and colleagues who are specialists in their own field.

Organised and methodical, you are able to prioritise your own workload to meet tight deadlines.

And, perhaps above all, you’re eager to immerse yourself in the unique learning opportunities that the collection presents.

This role involves an amount of travel to photographic sessions off site, therefore a full and valid driving license is essential.
