The Duke of York Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (iDEA) is a platform based voctech solution aiming to help plug the digital skills gap using an innovative badge store concept. This has been curated to help inspire people to become digital citizens, workers, makers, entrepreneurs and gamers to enhance their employability; and to help them become economically active.

iDEA is a blended learning approach that aspires to be a digital and enterprise equivalent of The Duke of Edinburgh Award. Participants take on a series of challenges that earn them points which aggregate towards their Bronze, Silver or Gold Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award.

You'll work closely with the Director, Office of HRH The Duke of York, KG to support iDEA on the technology aspects of the programme. This will include supporting the quality assurance and maintenance of the iDEA platform and its resources. You will develop resources, troubleshoot technology issues; and conduct evaluation analysis using data from the database. You will be expected to have knowledge of a range of programming languages including object oriented web languages – preferably PHP; experience working with frameworks – preferably Laravel; and experience using databases, preferably with MySQL skills. You will also be expected to play an active role supporting the broader activities of the Office of HRH The Duke of York, KG.

You will be degree educated with an interest in the digital world and education.

You should have experience in web development with knowledge of a range of programming languages and frameworks and a track record in developing attractive, user friendly websites and apps.

You will have experience in the management of development lifecycles (from initial ideas, through storyboarding and planning to delivery, testing and maintenance) and enjoy troubleshooting technology projects. Experience of PHP, Laravel and MySQL are all preferable.

The requirement for strong technical skills is imperative for this role, as is the ability to solve problems, multi-task and work efficiently. Evidence will be sought for code samples or GitHub profiles or links to projects/websites you have created. Please provide relevant links in the application form.

Familiarity with server setup and security, and version control, testing and unix systems is desirable, as is a sound understanding of UX and UI
