It’s maintaining systems that push the whole household forward

It’s bringing your own perspective to work every day. And it’s actively shaping the future of a remarkable institution. This is what makes a career at the Royal Household exceptional.

Our IT team provides vital technical support, maintaining and developing our IT systems for the benefit over 1800 users across all Royal residences.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the enterprise server infrastructure.

You’ll work across a wide variety of services, and the scope of your role will include design, configuration and installation, as well as ongoing troubleshooting and maintenance.

Working closely alongside the rest of the IT operations team, you’ll evaluate, analyse and advise on current technologies to ensure that our services remain reliable.

You’ll also be at the forefront of our system security, implementing the controls, and response procedures needed to protect our systems and ensure business continuity.

All of which will need to provide flexible solutions to our varied operational needs, including effective data management and mobile working.

And your expertise will be called upon. You’ll help plan and deliver a range of improvement projects, developing our systems and process, and ironing out inefficiencies for the benefit of everyone.

The range of work will expand your knowledge further, and knowing your work is integral to the ongoing, successful running of the organisation will continue to drive you.

Educated to degree level, and with substantial experience in IT Infrastructure or service support, you’re an expert in your field, looking to expand your experience.

Qualifications in IT technical support would also be an advantage, along with a strong working knowledge of service management and best practice security standards.

Furthermore, specialist experience in one (or more) of either service management, networking, end user computing or infrastructure technologies will be important, and you’ll be proactive about staying up-to-date with industry standards.

Your logical and innovative problem solving will be key, and you’ll be able to effectively troubleshoot and suggest pragmatic solutions to resolve technical issues, remaining level headed in pressured scenarios.

What's more, you're highly organised, able to systematically manage, prioritise and deliver your own workload to meet varied needs and deadlines.

With a collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills, you'll be confident building strong working relationships with a variety of people across the Household. And you’ll enjoy working a part of a wider team of specialists to deliver results.

Analytical and objective in approach, you’ll work well independently on set projects.

And with a strong customer focus, you're committed to developing a trusted IT service that leaves a positive impression.
