It’s introducing centuries of books and manuscripts to the digital age

It's feeling proud of the part you play. It's the joy of caring for and promoting the books and manuscripts in one of the world's greatest collections. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so different.

In quality and diversity, the collection of books in Royal Collection Trust's care is breathtaking.

As part of our Collections Information team, your challenge will be to continue to expand on and improve access to the Royal Collection for internal and external audiences.

You'll catalogue our collection of books and manuscripts on the Collection Management System, ensuring every item is documented accurately.

Helping to present this fascinating collection, you'll review and enhance existing records on the system, as well as on the Royal Collection Trust's website 'Collection Online'.

Collaborating with a range of teams within Royal Collection Trust, you will also take part in inventory and condition checks of the Collection across the royal residences

In everything you do, you will aim to engage your audience with an expanding historic book collection.

Degree educated, with relevant qualifications or equivalent experience working in a library, you will have a broad knowledge of British history and, ideally, working knowledge of a foreign language.

With great IT skills, accuracy and a real eye for detail, you'll have experience of collection database systems and MARC 21 standards, and will be eager to present the collection to internal and external audiences.

Organised and self-managed, you're able to deliver long-term projects either independently or with the team.

As an excellent communicator, you'll enjoy working with colleagues across the department to achieve high standards of presentation to the public. You're also able to motivate yourself and maintain concentration, even when it comes to repetitive tasks.

What's more, you'll understand the challenges of cataloging an historic collection, and be eager to take advantage of the many learning opportunities that the collection presents.

This is your opportunity to combine your knowledge with your proactive approach to deliver the exceptional.
