It’s bringing Raphael to the digital age

It's becoming part of something special. And it's getting satisfaction from working with a collection of international importance. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so different.

Royal Collection Trust is embarking on a major project exploring the life, works and legacy of Prince Albert. His 'Raphael Collection', formed of prints and early photographs of Raphael's works, is an indispensable resource for the study of this important artist.

As part of our Prints and Drawings team you'll work on this exciting project, cataloguing the works within the Raphael Collection, and making them available to both internal and external audiences.

You'll also edit and update existing records to make sure this unique and diverse content is accessible and easy to navigate.

By preparing material for digitisation and creating new records, your cataloguing will underpin our collection management, and maximise the collection's exposure.

You'll also help colleagues identify and prepare new resources for the Royal Collection's website.

You'll liaise with a number of different teams also working on this project. Collaboration will form part of your daily routine and will be key to your success.

And, in all that you do, you'll help a growing audience access and discover this fascinating material.

You'll have a relevant degree, along with experience of cataloguing prints and early photographs, and familiarity with the challenges of working with a historic collection.

You'll also have a broad knowledge of art history, particularly of the Italian Renaissance and a passion for the works of Raphael.

With a working knowledge of one or more European language, you'll be comfortable working with materials in other languages on a daily basis.

Confident IT skills are a must, along with some experience of using relevant cultural heritage cataloguing systems and finding aids.

Your methodical approach and excellent organisational skills mean you'll be able to work effectively to meet deadlines.

Self-motivated with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy, you'll be able to work independently to achieve consistently high standards.

Finally, your communication and problem-solving skills will make you an asset to our team, and you'll look forward to the many opportunities that working with our unique collection presents.

This is your opportunity to use your passion to deliver the exceptional.

Interviews will be held week commencing 11 December 2017
