It's bringing future generations closer to a fascinating past

It’s becoming part of something special. And it’s the satisfaction of interpreting and presenting one of the world’s greatest art collections. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so different.

Unique in both quality and diversity, the Royal Collection has a fascinating history, and our Learning Section is responsible for sharing its stories with the broadest possible audience.

You'll manage a dedicated team, delivering an innovative and inspiring Learning programme at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. With strategic and creative leadership you will look to expand our learning offer; initiating and developing learning and interpretation programmes.

Building strong relationships with local and national partners across the cultural sector and beyond will be key to your success. You'll look to extend the reach and diversity of our offer and collaborate to uncover new opportunities.

You'll curate and manage an engaging and varied adult learning programme that carves out its own space within the wider cultural environment of Edinburgh.

Working closely with colleagues within the wider Learning team and across Royal Collection Trust, you'll assess and develop current learning activities, oversee daily operations and manage the promotion of the programme.

Whilst ensuring your team is inspired and motivated to deliver their best, you'll also plan ahead, managing the programming budget and evaluating and reporting on its success,

And you'll join us at a truly exciting time; as part of our Future Programme, you'll take on the unique challenge of increasing the scale of our learning programmes.

With your vision and ideas about how to shape and maximise our learning offering, you'll help to deliver an exciting future.

And you’ll be proud to bring the Royal Collection closer to a growing audience.

A burgeoning expert in your field, you're a strategic thinker with a passion for delivering innovative public programming, and ready to make an impact.

Educated to degree level and with good cultural knowledge, you'll also have a breadth of experience developing immersive, popular and entertaining learning programmes, ideally within an arts or heritage environment, and for an adult audience.

As a confident communicator and networker, you're able to present on public platforms and build collaborative relationships with all kinds of people. You'll also have proven experience of working alongside a broad range of stakeholders towards learning aims and goals.

Organised and pro-active, with initiative and self-motivation, you'll juggle a varied workload with ease, effectively balancing strategic and operational priorities.

You're also a capable and experienced people manager, able to lead, develop and inspire an ambitious team.

Familiar with drawing up budgets and reports, and with excellent written skills, you'll be keen to utilise data to create clear and meaningful evaluations.

At your best working as part of a team, you have an open and collaborative style and can readily adapt to changing needs.

Above all, you'll have a customer focus in all you do, which will be the driving force in developing our programme, widening our learning offer and attracting new audiences.

This is your opportunity to use your passion for learning and ability to inspire curiosity to deliver the exceptional.
