It's conserving a magnificent history that will be enjoyed by future generations

It's knowing that your work matters more, and it's caring for and presenting one of the world's largest art collections. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so different.

Joining a team of talented conservation and restoration specialists, you'll care for and restore giltwood furniture and frames to the highest standard.

Based at our on-site workshop, you'll carry out conservation treatments, employing a range of techniques. You'll carefully balance multiple projects, ensuring that the collection can continue to be appreciated by millions.

Everyday your expertise will be relied upon. You'll evaluate the condition of furniture and items, helping to uncover each one’s history and make recommendations for treatments. You'll balance multiple conservation projects, in line with exhibitions, loans and daily operations, ensuring that the collection can continue to be appreciated by millions.

You'll also oversee the work of external contractors, providing advice and guidance to ensure exceptional standards of collections care and conservation at all times.

You'll be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of specialist tools, equipment ensuring H&S requirements are consistently met. And you’ll also keep our expanding collection database up-to-date with the findings and results of your work.

You'll aim for the highest standards in all that you do. And contributing to and caring for one of the world's greatest collections will inspire you every day.

With a relevant degree in conservation, and significant experience in the conservation and restoration of giltwood, ideally giltwood furniture, you'll be a burgeoning expert in your field.

You’ll be confident evaluating items and proposing conservation treatments that are practical and in line with time and budgetary requirements, and whilst you have experience with traditional gilding materials and techniques, you’ll be keen to develop your skills and adopt different treatment methods.

An exceptional eye for detail will be vital to your work, and ensure that you achieve stunning end results.

In addition, your organisation and time management skills will be vital in order to prioritise multiple, and often conflicting deadlines.

You're an excellent communicator, and will enjoy working alongside and engaging with people at all levels, both internal and external, including specialists in their own field.

Perceptive with great problem solving skills, we can rely on you to take initiative, assess situations, and make decisions when needed.

A good command of relevant IT programmes will be important too.

Above all, you're driven to maintain the very highest standards of care in all that you do.
