5 days, Monday to Sunday

The Master of the Household's Department is responsible for the catering, cleaning and hospitality across the Royal residencies.

You will join the catering team who prepare and serve meals for several hundred people each week, be it for a special event or staff lunches.

You will assist the team in the cleaning of crockery and utensils in the staff dining facilities. From floor to ceiling you will ensure all equipment and surfaces are clean and hygienic, ready for use on a daily basis.

Supporting the daily operations of this busy team, this role offers you the experience of working in a catering environment as part of a professional team.


Although based at Buckingham Palace, you will also travel and work at other Royal residences in the UK, spending approximately three months of the year away from London.



You will enjoy working as part of a team and are enthusiastic and willing to help colleagues.

You will have excellent organisational skills and as a motivated person, you use your initiative to complete tasks.

You show good attention to detail and take pride in your work, always achieving a good end result.

A working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Safety and possession of a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, and relevant experience in a role with transferable skills would be an advantage, but is not essential as training will be provided.
