It’s project-managing the movement of a diverse collection to the highest standards. And It's feeling proud of the part you play, helping to protect a magnificent collection during essential construction works.

The Collections Project Coordinator will support the delivery of decant and reinstallation projects involving Royal Collection objects across the Palace to enable the Reservicing Programme. The Collections Project Coordinator may also lead on planning and coordination for individual project areas.

The post-holder will work closely with all members of the Reservicing Operations Team, and Royal Collection Trust colleagues, supporting them with operational planning and other duties as required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • You will ensure the safe packing, handling, transport, and documentation of works of art at every stage of the process and deliver these projects in line with the overall programme of works.
  • Prepare and maintain object lists, load lists, programmes and other documentation to support the decant and reinstallation projects.
  • Support the work of the wider programme of moves of people, operations and objects as required.
  • Support the Senior Collections Project Coordinator and Collections Project Manager with preparing documentation for tenders.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience.
  • Collections management or registrar experience working with permanent collections, exhibitions, or object movement projects.
  • Extensive experience of either collections care, inventory and documentation work.
  • Project management skills and the ability to demonstrate delivery of projects on time and to budget. 
  • Strong planning, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to respond to a varied and reactive workload.
  • Self-motivator and a team player, strong communication skills and able to work collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

Experience working in historic buildings would also be advantageous.
