It's preserving and presenting some of the world's greatest drawings

It's knowing that your work matters more. And it's the satisfaction of caring for and presenting one of the most extensive art collections in existence. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so different.

The old master drawings, watercolours, prints, photographs and portrait miniatures in the Royal Collection have a unique and engrossing history.

Working within the Prints and Drawings section of Royal Collection Trust, your challenge will be to lead a team of talented experts to care for and present this world-class collection.

You'll manage a busy programme of conservation, co-ordinating treatments for upcoming exhibitions and loans, and making sure all work is delivered to the highest standard.

As an expert in your field, you'll undertake a wide range of conservation treatments for works of art on paper, and you'll direct, monitor and evaluate all the work your team carries out on this vast collection.

You'll liaise with teams around the Trust, advising on the correct handling, storage, transport and display of works of art on paper, preserving them for generations to come.

But that's not all, you’ll be encouraged to research and develop new solutions for paper conservation problems, keeping our conservation policy at the forefront of professional standards.

In all that you do, you'll collaborate with and inspire those around you, achieving results that can be enjoyed by millions around the world.

With a relevant degree or equivalent, along with experience of managing conservation projects within a museum, gallery or library, you’re the expert we need.

You'll have wide-ranging expertise in the conservation of works of art on paper, especially old master and nineteenth-century material, and ideally in photographs too.

And you'll have an extensive understanding of the science, theory and ethics of conservation. A broad knowledge of art history would be an advantage too.

With strong leadership skills and a positive attitude, you're able to motivate, support and develop a team to deliver outstanding results in a busy setting.

Your organised and methodical approach to work will be important, as you'll be managing budgets and multiple deadlines. You'll also have a good command of relevant IT programmes.

With an exceptional eye for detail, you'll be proud to deliver conservation work to the highest standard.
